This was my fourth trip with Pat. As always, I am amazed at his passion for fishing and his encyclopedic knowledge of the ways of Trout. He comes as close to thinking like a Trout as anyone I know. He always provides a wonderful experience, and he does it in a way to make you feel good about your fishing skills. He shares freely of his knowledge, and I always learn a huge amount in my time on the river with him. It is no wonder he is held in such high esteem by the Fly Fishing community of Colorado. I do want to get into Cheeseman Canyon with him one day. Thanks for a memorable day. You guys have a great shop. Keep up the inspiring work.

My "go to guide" for Cheeseman Canyon. Somehow, with Pat I can still make it well into The Canyon 49 years after I first fished The Canyon. Hope to be fishing there with him for years to come. (He writes good books, too).

I've had the pleasure of spending several terrific days with Pat on the river. Not only is Pat passionate about his clients and the fishery, he is a wonderful teacher and companion on the water. Pat's mastery of the subtle techniques that make the difference on the river is amazing, and will help advance your angling skills to the next level. Since moving to Colorado in 2006, I've taken nearly one guide trip per month here in the West - I've fished from the Missouri river in Montana to the Pecos river in New Mexico and everywhere in between - while the majority of my trips have been here in Colorado, I've had the opportunity to fish with extraordinary guides throughout trout country. No guide I have fished with has been any more extraordinary than Pat Dorsey. Pat's knowledge of trout and the bugs they eat, his familiarity with the rives he fishes and his ability to work with an angler regardless of his/her experience level make a day fishing with him truly an experience. With his professional demeanor and his ability to make a pretty darn good stream side lunch, Pat is, in my opinion, a true master of his craft - after a day spent with Pat, you will walk away a better angler.

Just wanted to let you know what a great time my father and I had during our fishing trip. From start to finish, the day was packed with excitement and the amount of fishing knowledge that we gained is really priceless. I certainly do believe that knowledge is power, especially on the river and that knowledge will translate into more tight lines for Bob and I. I will never forget that awesome rainbow opening its mouth and eating Bob's offering. The experience was second to none, you and Blue Quill Anglers are top-shelf. I look forward to coming back to your great state and enjoying your wonderful fishing.

Pat, thank you so much for the great day Monday. Donna and I got just what we were hoping for, we learned a great deal with your patient guidance. We are so fortunate to have a resource like you willing (and able) to share your vast knowledge of this canyon. We can hardly wait to get back up and put to use the skills you gave us. In the mean time, when the day gets frustrating, I picture Donna catching rainbows and feel the browns jerking on the line. This meditation restores the day. You have no idea what this means to me, but you are responsible, thank you!

I had the opportunity earlier this week to spend a great day on the South Platte in Cheeseman Canyon with Pat. I have fished with Pat several times in the past, and each time I have progressed significantly as an angler because of his patient, professional, and enthusiastic instruction. Pat has always made certain to clarify my goals for the day and has worked tirelessly towards these ends. Each day on the water has been a extraordinary experience, and Pat has been, by far, the best guide with whom I have fished. Pat's love for this river and its history is palpable, and he truly enjoys sharing this special place with his clients.

Pat Dorsey has been a featured speaker with International Sportsmen’s Expositions longer than just about anybody. Why? Because Pat continues to draw large crowds of show attendees eager to learn. I think Pat’s success is due to his skill, knowledge and outstanding reputation, of course. But, even more, Pat is popular because he is an accessible and patient teacher. Pat Dorsey is a good man, and ISE is proud to promote and to have him representing fly fishing on our stages.
