Travel the World with the Blue Quill Angler

World-class fishing is only one cast away! Join Pat and Kim Dorsey on a adventure of a lifetime as they travel the globe in pursuit of unforgettable angling experiences. Dennis and Chris Steinbeck are also co-hosting some of these trips. We’re pleased to announce our 2026 Destination Travel Schedule, featuring some of the finest fisheries on the planet.
Our hosted travel season kicks off February 13–23, 2026, with a visit to Nomadic Waters in the interior of Brazil, targeting peacock bass on the legendary Rio Negro. Our group will stay aboard a beautiful mothership for seven nights and six days. Each day, professional guides transport us by Bass Trackers to explore the jungle’s finest peacock bass water. It won’t take you long to figure out that a week in the jungle is a life changing experience.
April 12–18, 2026, we head south to Patagonia, Argentina, for a week at Rio Manso Lodge. This is Patagonia at its best—brown and brook trout are fully colored-up and aggressively feeding on minnows. With autumn in full swing, the stage is set for exceptional streamer fishing. If you enjoy fall fishing, this trip is perfect for you! The magnificent landscapes are simply stunning, which is an added bonus to this time of year.

In mid-September, we travel north to Alaska Sportsman’s Lodge in Bristol Bay for phenomenal rainbow trout fishing. The rainbows are fat and sassy after a summer of feasting on salmon eggs from nearby spawning runs—truly some of the best rainbow trout fishing anywhere. The team of professional at Alaska Sportsman Lodge strive to create the perfect outdoor experience. Daily fly-outs to the best fishing puts this experience over the top.
Our annual Couples Trip to Soaring Eagle Lodge is always a guest favorite. The San Juan River is widely regarded as one of the best tailwaters in the western U.S. Spending four nights and three days with other couples makes for a relaxed, social, and memorable experience. We choose this week for its outstanding fishing and stunning fall colors.
Kim and I have always wanted to see the other side of the Andes, so we are doing just that. We are heading to Chili November 12- 22, 2026 to Patagonia Baker’s Lodge with a group of 10 anglers. Many of these folks have expressed an interest in going Chili so we put it together. Tom Rosenbauer has been recommending this lodge to us for years!
We then head to the “salt” November 28–December 5, fishing for bonefish, permit, tarpon, and snook in Belize. El Pescador Lodge, located in the heart of Ambergris Caye, offers breathtaking views, exceptional accommodations, and world-class flats fishing. This is a trip that should be on everyone’s bucket list.

We wrap up the year with a return trip to Rio Manso Lodge in Patagonia for the famed dragonfly hatch. Dry-fly fishing during this period is simply as good as it gets. Anglers have the opportunity to fish some of the world’s finest stillwater impoundments, targeting brook, brown, and rainbow trout with big, beefy surface offerings. The Rio Manso River offers miles of stream fishing for those who enjoy float-fishing on rafts or combining lake fishing with river opportunities.
